The Short Summary
YourPDF operates 100% inside your web browser. We do not upload, copy, store, log, inspect, or share your documents. When you merge, split, compress, or convert a file, the file never travels across the internet to our servers.
1. The Core Principle: Local Client-Side Processing
Unlike traditional online PDF conversion services that require you to upload your files to remote servers where they may sit in temporary buckets or logs, YourPDF utilizes client-side JavaScript and WebAssembly (WASM). All computational tasks—including rendering, rasterization, OCR, compression, encryption, and page ordering—take place in your device's local CPU, GPU, and RAM.
2. Data We Do NOT Collect
- Document Content: We never receive or store the contents, titles, or metadata of files you process.
- Personal Information: We do not ask for your name, email address, physical address, or phone number to use any of our standard tools.
- Payment Data: All 29 PDF tools on YourPDF are completely free. We do not store or process credit cards or financial accounts.
3. Local Storage Usage
We use your browser's standard localStorage API solely to store your chosen visual preferences, specifically:
yourpdf_theme: Records whether you have selected Dark Mode or Light Mode so your preference persists across page reloads.
This data never leaves your device and can be cleared at any time through your browser settings.
4. Analytics & Cookies
YourPDF maintains a strict anti-tracking posture. We do not use intrusive cross-site tracking cookies or fingerprinting techniques. Basic server access logs (such as request IP addresses and browser user-agent strings) may be generated automatically by our hosting platform (e.g. Netlify/Vercel/Cloudflare) solely to prevent DDoS attacks and ensure server reliability.
5. Compliance with GDPR and CCPA
Because YourPDF does not collect, process, or sell personal document data on remote servers, our application inherently satisfies the strict data privacy mandates established by the European Union General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA).
6. Changes to this Policy
We may periodically update this policy to reflect new browser capabilities or features. Any changes will be posted immediately on this page with an updated timestamp.
